Douglas DC-6 Recovery Team members included Steve Link (MVP!), Allen Schlegel, Kathy Roberts, Adam Brooks, Mark Parsons and Clem Haddad who flew in from Houston, and me. This aircraft was soon to be scrapped, so I feel good that my volunteer team and I were able to save 38 feet of the aircraft for display. Steve Link did most of the critical support cradle design from his shoring experience on KC-135s. Adam Brooks was our major cutter with both the gas saw and sawsall. It was quite an experience. Buddy Chapman did the hauling to OKC from Victoria, TX. Belger Cartage was unbelievable in unloading and rigging the fuselage chunk with skates to move it around in the museum. Thanks, everyone, for a job well done!!!
